The Frills Are in Heaven, Earth Is No Frills...Saith The Lord
Howard Storm shares one of my favourite testimonies of meeting Yeshua/Jesus. The man was a University Professor, aspiring to become a famous artist at the time of his near death and encounter with his Creator. You can look up the other details of his story, the one that I'm discussing is God's attitude towards art. Howard was so impressed by The King, he immediately intended that the minute he returned to "normal life" on earth, he would use his talent to create some sort of shrine to celebrate Him! The reaction of Jesus was "Please don't..." The reason Jesus gave Howard was that he personally needed to do something a little more social, a bit less reclusive. Howard does still paint, but first he has written his books, gotten his testimony out into Humanity, and the Message overflowing into his art is geared towards what the rest of us need to know. Creation speaks for itself, God is better at glorifying Himself and showing us what He is like, than we can do, should we muster our every talent and ability! He has done and is doing that part of showing forth His power and majesty. Our part is to encourage and preach to the lost and doubting ones: that friendship with this Almighty One who created us and all we need (including beauty for our souls) is accessible and that He proved it on the Cross of Redemption. Our humility may not be attractive or lucrative in human terms, but it gets the job done breaking the ice to get through to the poor victims of Satan, deluded by proud spirits. How proud and deluded was I, when humble folk around me both preached to me and set the BEST examples of how to embrace "the joyful spirit of a sound mind!"
